Happy 2015! A new, improved & Happy Me

As I sip on the finest Assam Tea I brought from Digboi (I had a tennis tournament there) from balcony of house, I gaze at the Greets Academy, a nice school just at a walkable distance from my home. As the school's clock strikes 10, I see students hurriedly moving to their classes, sharing expert opinions about cricket, football, plotting next prank on the friends, how to make through another boring period, etc.

Time is ticking away, when soon these struggles will be replaced by the real struggles of life that never crossed their worried minds.
Time is ticking away, I believe best is yet come and achieve. We will enter our best year yet again. I thought, I will share a few tips to make 2015 a happier one which I pondered upon. Before that let me wish you a Happy New Year!

If I could offer you only 1 tip, Pranayama would be it. Long term benefits have been proved by scientist while the rest of my tips do not have any scientific basis other than my own stupid life experiences.

My simple, stupid tips to be happy!

1)      Run!
Wake up a little early. Go for a jog for 30 mins. The openness, the adrenalin rush and the sweat will make you feel better. Do whatever inspires you- badminton, tennis or football and see a small smile that appeared on your face.
Note: Be kind to your knee, you will miss them when they are gone.

2)      Slow things down!

“Where are those report?”,
"Why hasn't that not been done till now!",
"Your targets has not been met this week!".... etc-etc

I know, we all are nagged by these phrases 24x7

OK now, Breath! Slow things down! Think!

Think of a solution instead of worrying and always look at the bigger picture. Worrying continuously about such problems which can be solved with an ease of chewing a bubble gum will make you look like 80 by the time when you turn 40.

3)      Create!

Write a shortlist of the things that gives you pleasure.
Sing! Even if have nowhere to do it but in your own bathroom. Cook with your loved ones, dance in your living room, even if you don’t consider yourself as an artist.
It’s not the technique, it’s the Passion.

4)     Turn off the TV, Talk!

Watching TV is not an activity, its passivity. Talk! Talk to your kids. Watch them grow. Because soon, they will grow and fly away to live their own lives. They need your love or they will find the love they need somewhere else.

5)     Read a book.

Its difficult to define happiness, in fact its difficult to define anything. Because what words can explain are limited, and can never be communicated in entirety. But anyway, try to follow them for 21 days ( Please Google : the magic rule of 21), you might find happiness.

PS1: Trust me on the Pranayama.
PS2: I don’t know if my readers will enjoy my first post as much as I am enjoying my tea. (It tastes excellent by the way.) If you get a chance to visit Assam, do get a pack of the regular flavor for sure.
